Improved service speeds delivery to members and offers additional conveniences
Philadelphia, PA — February 3, 2009 — FutureScripts announced today that it has launched a new mail order service program using the FutureScripts brand that will offer increased convenience, faster delivery and easier payment options for members.
“We are pleased to offer our customers and plan participants further improvements to the pharmacy benefit services they already have,” said Paul Urick, R.Ph., senior vice president for FutureScripts. “Because people are busy and are looking for cost-effective and convenient ways to manage their health care needs, we expect these enhanced mail order features and services will be very well-received. They also help empower our members, giving them greater control over how and when they want to fill their prescriptions, and allowing them to save money in many cases.”
FutureScripts collaborated with CVS Caremark to launch these services under the FutureScripts brand. FutureScripts’ enhanced mail order service began January 1, 2009, when all bottle caps, drug information, and packaging began to include the FutureScripts name. New benefits and services include:
“Since the new mail order program began last month, members have been pleased with the service and all operations are running well,” said Eric Estes, R.Ph., senior director of operations for FutureScripts. “We are hearing positive feedback both from our customer groups and from individual participants, who are happy to be ordering online and receiving their medications in a matter of days from their ordering time.”
“We are delighted to work with FutureScripts to make this innovative mail order service program available to their customers,” said Ken Czarnecki, senior vice president, Mail Pharmacies at CVS Caremark. “The program provides FutureScripts customers with a convenient, cost-effective way to receive and manage their prescriptions, delivered with a high level of attention to quality and service.”
In addition to the convenience of having medicines delivered to their home or office, FutureScripts participants save money by using the mail order program. They may be able to receive up to a three-month supply of medication for less than they would pay at a retail pharmacy. In some cases, members can order a 90-day supply at a 60-day supply copay. Mail order prescription fulfillment also saves time and trips to the retail pharmacy and eliminates waiting at the prescription counter. FutureScripts has experienced annual volume of more than 1 million prescriptions in mail order services.
