
As you may be aware, chronic conditions, left unattended, can lead to poor health and affect quality of life. From July 1 through December 31, 2008, the new plan participant incentive program, called Rx for Better Health, will waive copays on 75 generic drugs to allow plan participants easier access to the drugs they need to stay healthy and avoid preventable consequences, unnecessary hospitalizations, and visits to the ER. The 75 drugs included in the Rx for Better Health program have been identified as those most commonly used to treat chronic conditions such as:
Consistently taking your doctor’s prescribed drug therapy is critical to successfully managing your chronic condition(s). The studies used to develop this plan participant incentive program show that consistent use of prescribed drugs for chronic conditions improves overall health and reduces the risk of more serious, and in some cases life-threatening, complications.
